WebIdk about the local server option on ark cuz I never used it but It sounds like it's maybe a LAN server that it uses seeing that its called a local dedicated server if so then that means your friend cant get your hostname on a LAN if it isn't part of the same LAN but if it doesn't host them as a LAN server then maybe its a DNS issue with either … WebI wouldn't mind so much having the gethostname failed message pop up but the server was visible as a random name and no password despite both of these having been specified in ark server manager and although I could join the server on my machine (same computer) my friends could not (time out message).
